HypnoBirthing® Practitioner, Judith Chilvers.

I came across HypnoBirthing® when I was expecting my son in 2006.

I was fascinated by the idea that birthing doesn't have to be as it is depicted on TV, or the colourful stories from friends and family. It had always intrigued me that my body knew how to create my baby's tiny eyelashes and tiny fingernails, but that it couldn't work out how to birth my baby without discomfort?

I tracked down a HypnoBirthing® Practitioner locally and began classes. I was amazed at what I was learning! - the course fully supported my belief that birthing doesn't have to be a traumatic medical event.

I practised regularly to ensure the techniques I had learned in the classes would be readily available when it was time for my birthing. Baby Adam was born on 27th February, 8lbs 9oz, with no drugs and no discomfort.

I knew that this amazing technique was passing many women by, and I decided to train to become a HypnoBirthing® Practitioner to bring this wonderful experience to other women in Northern Ireland.

I then studied to become a Clinical Hypnotherpaist as I was fascinated about the other uses for Hypnotherapy, for example Smoking Cessation and Healthy Eating which can also be very relevant to expectant mothers, and I qualified with Distinction in my Practioner Diploma from the BST Foundation.
